Glover Mansion Wedding | Nick & Lindsey

This year I had the opportunity to photograph Glover Mansion weddings on four different occasions. Nick and Lindsey asked me to photograph their wedding that was on September 19 which turned out to be a beautiful day. Though there was some rain here and there, the fall colors were incredible around the wedding venue and downtown Spokane.

Nick and Lindsey did not want a traditional first look, so instead, I set them up to be able to talk with each other. Lindsey wanted to mess with Nick some so I set up their “first talk” similar to how I would for a first look. Afterward, we went around the Glover Mansion and took some photos with the two of them, still not allowing Nick to see Lindsey.

Their ceremony location was at Our Lady of Lourdes, a catholic church in downtown Spokane. The interior was dark but beautiful. I took photos of their ceremony then we took some couple’s photos inside before heading out into downtown Spokane for more photos.

After the ceremony and a quick photo session indoors, we headed out to take more photos. It was drizzling rain and was quite cold but we managed to get some amazing photos then headed back to the Glover Mansion to get more wedding photos outside before the reception started.

Their wedding reception was beautiful. I have always loved Glover Mansion weddings because the interior is so beautiful and historic. The dark atmosphere provides quite a challenge for many wedding photographers as it is quite dark, but my lighting, equipment, and expertise made the job much easier. The couple ate food, had some toasts, then cut the cake and danced. It was not a late night but was perfect.

Though it was rainy throughout the day, the photos we got around the Glover Mansion were beautiful and the couple loved the photos they got back. Lindsey later left me a review saying,

“Zach was one of the most patient, prepared, and flexible photographers and our day could not have gone as smoothly without him. Not only did he brave the coldest day of the year for our engagement photos before my husband had to deploy but it also poured down rain the day of our wedding and we still took photos outside. If you're looking for a "brave-the-elements" type photographer, Zach is your guy. AND to top it off, the photos were amazing! We also had a very dark indoor reception space and he was so creative with his lighting set-up that all the photos turned out so well. Our guests were even impressed and asked for his information to use at their own events. After dinner, he even put up some edited photos of the day on his laptop in the bar for guests to see. It's been about 3 weeks since we got married and I still have people talking about how cool it was that he did that. All in all, I highly recommend Zach for anyone looking for a wedding photographer. Top notch and so friendly. I wish I could get married again just for the photos.”
