North Cascades Elopement
This summer, I had the opportunity to photograph an elopement in the North Cascades. The couple, Misty and Alfredo, hired me to come up to a remote mountain ski hut called the Cassal hut, which is owned by the company, Rendezvous Huts. It was a beautiful sunny day and the cabin was pretty amazing. We started off with some brief getting-ready photos.
Then we had a first look with Misty’s father.
And then it was on to the first look with Alfredo.
Afterward, we grabbed a quick drink and then headed down to the ceremony location for their Jewish / American ceremony. It was quite the slope to walk down but the view from the ceremony location was beautiful.
When the ceremony was done, we headed up to have some food and then take some family photos.
And we finished off the day with some couple’s photos overlooking the North Cascades. The view was incredible.
It is not every day one gets to capture a North Cascade elopement. It was such a beautiful area and the hut provided the perfect spot for a beautiful ceremony. I am thankful that Misty and Alfredo asked me to photograph their big day and that they loved their photos.
I got the following review from Misty on Google:
“We are over the moon that we picked Zach Nichols Photography. My husband and I contacted Zach just a couple months before our wedding because the virus forced us to change plans. Instead of the large wedding we were planning, we instead decided to do an adventure elopement. Zach was enthusiast and quickly made me feel at ease. He was responsive, friendly, professional, and I can't say enough about the quality of the photos we received. It was a hot, slightly hazy summer day. The site, a remote ski cabin in the Methow Valley, was dry and yellow, and yet all our photos look lush and alive. Definitely would not change anything about our experience!” - Misty
