Nothing is more of a staple and a necessity to a wedding than a beautiful wedding dress. Though there are many bridal dress shops in Spokane, there aren’t many that not only want you to find the perfect dress but also that care as deeply about you and your personal experience as Honest in Ivory.
Honest in Ivory is a local wedding dress shop that specializes in creating modern and unique wedding dresses. The store was founded in Spokane by Cassie and has become one of the most well known in the area. The company supplies dresses to brides and adds a very personal touch to every bride’s experience. I have yet to meet someone who didn’t LOVE working with this company.
I can speak from personal experience as a wedding photographer that the dresses from Honest in Ivory are some of the most beautiful I have seen; which is why I have come to recommend them to every client looking for a great bridal boutique. My wife even bought one of their dresses for our wedding, and though I may be slightly biased, she looked INCREDIBLE. She also had nothing but great things to say about the entire experience.
I had the opportunity to get in contact with Honest in Ivory’s founder, Cassie, for an interview about her business as well as her opinions and thoughts for brides looking for the perfect wedding dress.
Interview with Bridal Shop Owner, Cassie
1) Tell me a brief history of you and your business, how it started, and how it has grown.
“I worked at a prom dress store in Spokane throughout college where I fell in love with formal dresses and the bridal industry. After college, I became a full-time speech therapist but had a dream of owning a bridal boutique once I retired. However, I very quickly realized that life is not a dress rehearsal (cheesy, I know-but so true). In December of 2017 I announced to my family that I wanted to open a bridal boutique here in Spokane. I moved back home from Seattle, and opened Honest in Ivory in 8 short months! I started out with 6 designers and only 99 dresses in the store and yet here we are only a year and a half later with over 300 dresses and 11 designers that only we carry. I have 8 incredible stylists and have built a supportive community of the most anything but ordinary brides, families, vendors, and friends. I seriously cannot wait to see where we go from here!”
2) What sets your business apart from others? What are a couple things you take pride in?
“Spokane was in desperate need of a bridal boutique that was for women who don't want to look like every other bride out there. Our dresses are unique, and we tailor to each individual personality. We have exclusivity with our designers which means no other stores in Spokane carry the same dresses that we do. Fully operated by women, we are so passionate about every bride who walk in our doors. We have the very best stylists who get to know brides intimately and help them through the sometimes overwhelming but oh so exciting process of finding their wedding dress. Our brides truly become our friends, and we would never push our friends to buy a dress they are not head over heels in love with. We don't conform to the sales gimmicks that feel inauthentic and pushy. Just a bridal shop? Nope, we are a group of women who use wedding dresses to support our community and make them feel confident and beautiful.”
3) What should future or current brides know about wedding dresses and the bridal shop industry?
“Man oh man, there is just so much. The number one advice we would give is that we wholeheartedly believe that 'bridal' can mean whatever you want it to mean-it doesn't have to come from Pinterest or anyone else. With that, there is no specific way you have to look on your wedding day-- you don't need to lose a certain amount of weight to be a bride, to change anything about yourself. When you look in the mirror we want you to think 'dang, I look good'. It can be way too easy to buy into all of the marketing messages that you are bombarded with in the wedding industry that you need to look one certain way. Go with your gut; you know how you want to look and feel on your wedding day.”

As you can see, Honest in Ivory is more than just a bridal shop. It is a company that not only supplies beautiful (and exclusive) wedding dresses, but also delivers a unique and incredible experience to every bride who walks in the door. They treat their clients like they would treat their friends and are all about community. Their goal is to send every bride out of their store feeling confident, empowered, and excited to get married.
